Role Overview
The Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial records across multiple entities and brands. This role works closely with leadership, operations, and external partners to maintain clean books, strong controls, and timely reporting.
This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and eager to grow within a structured finance organization.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting Functions
- Record and maintain accurate general ledger entries
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Multi-Entity & Operational Support
- Assist with accounting across multiple business entities and cost centers
- Track intercompany transactions and allocations
- Support revenue recognition and expense classification
- Work with operations teams to ensure accurate job costing and expense tracking
Compliance & Reporting
- Assist with sales tax filings and compliance requirements
- Support audits, reviews, and requests from external accountants
- Maintain organized financial documentation and records
- Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and procedures
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls
- Support system integrations (QuickBooks, payroll, PEO, etc.)
- Help build scalable accounting practices as the company grows
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
Preferred
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Experience in multi-entity or multi-location organizations
- Exposure to payroll, PEOs, or benefits accounting
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
